Be a Mentor
Here’s a logo we did for a small organization in Washington DC who manages mentorship programs for the Department of Education. It’s a fairly simple design. After playing around with some of the key letters in the name, we came upon the fact that the “M” – with the right typeface – looked like a pair of legs. Well, the rest kind of developed from there. We chose a more subtle color palette as their intentions were to appeal to adults in a professional careers, not the kids and young adults. So the palette needed to be less juvenile and more appealing to mature professionals. The two figures are equal size (not one smaller/one larger to represent adult vs. youth) because we specifically wanted to portray the mentor and the ‘mentee’ as equals in the relationships they develop. Below is the new identity package they now use.
